Chevrolet SS

Chevrolet SS is a full-size five-seat E-class sedan. Its overall dimensions are: length 4966 mm, width 1897 mm, height 1470 mm, and the wheelbase is 2916 mm. It is noteworthy that the car is built according to the classic layout.

It has a front longitudinal arrangement of the power unit and rear-wheel drive. Such a structure can bring a lot of pleasure to a true driving fan. The sedan has a decent mass, in a dry state it weighs as much as 1796 kilograms. To stop such a big guy, the manufacturer installed Brembo ventilated disc brakes with four-piston calipers. The diameter of the front discs is 355mm and the rear discs are 322mm.

Chevrolet SS has a small trunk for its class, only 464 liters. This is quite enough for the daily tasks of a city dweller, but during a long journey with several passengers and an abundance of luggage, the car will lose its practicality. The backs of the second row of seats do not fold down, there is only a small hatch for transporting long loads.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION CHEVROLET SS

The Chevrolet SS is equipped with a single power unit, a six-speed automatic transmission with variable transmissions, exclusively rear-wheel drive. Although the car does not have a wide choice, it is not needed here, the sedan has a rather narrow range of tasks that it copes with perfectly thanks to the proposed units.

The engine of the Chevrolet SS is a huge naturally aspirated V8 petrol with a volume of 6162 cubic centimeters. This power unit is also installed on the Corvette supercar, it is completely made of aluminum, has four camshafts and 32 valves. It develops 415 horsepower at 5900 rpm and 563 Nm of torque at 4600 rpm.

With such a monster under the hood, the sedan accelerates to a speed of one hundred kilometers per hour in just 5.2 seconds, and the top speed, in turn, is electronically limited to 257 kilometers per hour. With such a displacement, you should not count on profitability. Fuel consumption of the Chevrolet SS will be 16.8 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers at an urban pace of movement with frequent accelerations and braking, 11.2 liters during a measured trip along a country road and 14 liters in a mixed driving cycle.
