Chevrolet Aveo

Weaknesses and the most common breakdowns of the Chevrolet Aveo in the back of the T250

Stove. Often the damper does not close completely.

Front suspension. Knocking and noise due to wear of thrust bearings and stabilizer struts.

Rear brakes. The slave cylinder may leak and stick.

Front calipers. Noise and knocking when the discs and pads are worn.

Engines. Oil leakage from under the valve cover, cracks in the radiator pipes, a weak resource of sensors and an idle speed controller, when the timing belt breaks, a fatal meeting of valves and pistons is inevitable.

Gearboxes. Deterioration of the drive cable.

In the back of the Aveo T250 there are differences with the two hundredth. They are minor, but they are there. It is inconvenient to reach for the handle of an open door, there is nowhere to put the phone on the right. But these are the little things that you can put up with for such money.

On the market, the most popular motors are those that are cheaper from the start. For Aveo, this is a 1.4-liter gasoline aspirated F14D4, less common is a 1.6-liter F16D4 engine with 106 horsepower and a 1.5-liter 83-horsepower F15S3 engine. An automatic transmission is rare, more often a five-speed manual.

Chassis Chevrolet Aveo Т250

The classic MacPherson strut in front and the torsion beam in the back are the standard scheme for a state employee. Aveo often suffers from “talkative” suspension, especially the front.

Native thrust bearings run about 60 thousand km, after which they begin to creak and knock.

They are joined by front brake calipers as the pads and discs wear out, as well as stabilizer struts.

The steering rack can already tap on a run of about 50,000 km, but in itself it is quite reliable.

As a rule, knocking in the rack is caused by wear on the right sleeve of the toothed shaft. There are complaints about the hydraulic booster.

For example, even on fresh specimens, the power steering pump can make noise when warming up in cold weather, and after 60-70 thousand mileage, it is necessary to control the fluid level in the power steering reservoir more often.

The main problem of the rear suspension is the silent blocks of the beam (the resource is about 80 thousand), the anthers of the shock absorbers.

The upper part of the anther wears out, as a result of which knocking may occur. Silent blocks of the rear beam are suitable from Matiz, but since the weight category is still different, they do not last long.

The best option for replacement is 4th generation Golf silent blocks of a decent brand. Another problem with most Aveos is the rear brake cylinders.

They try to change them whenever possible with each replacement of the pads, otherwise there is a chance to catch a wedge of the pads.
