The Chevrolet Cruze has long been a good choice in the compact sedan segment. Pleasant appearance, thoughtful and comfortable interior, good build quality and good reliability made this car in 2010 and including 2014 the favorite of many practical citizens. All these pleasant and understandable advantages for every motorist were offered to our buyer at a very reasonable price.
The Chevrolet Cruze is one of those rare occasions when a car can truly be called an international favorite. In just 5 years, more than 3 million first-generation cars were sold in the world, i.e. J300 models. The geography of its sales and operation is very extensive, from the Australian deserts to Europe. Such an international love for this car was made possible by the joint technical development of GM technology centers in Asia, Europe and the United States.
The minimum equipment of the LS car included – a spacious interior, good economy with a quiet ride, a manual gearbox and good dynamism with a 1.8-liter engine, which could develop a speed of 100 km / h in 10 seconds. With the increase in the cost of completing the car, the number of optional functions grew proportionally: for example, a set of six airbags, brake force distribution (EBD), road stability system (ESP), keyless entry to the passenger compartment, cruise control, parking sensors, climate control control and many other functions could already be included in the average or maximum configuration. In some variants, additional options such as a blind spot monitoring system could also be offered.
The first generation Cruze model was based on the Delta II global platform, and the Opel Astra J car (2009-2014) was also built on it. Common roots have left their mark on these two models, in terms of their dimensions, proportions, as well as overhangs and corners of the external elements, both cars are identical. The difference is observed only in style, i.e. both on the outside and inside the cars themselves.

Regarding the flaws in the Cruze car, on forums and on automotive sites, opinions were divided into two camps. Some owners claim that Chevrolet has made one of the most reliable cars in recent years. Indirectly, the popularity of Cruises is confirmed by the taxi companies themselves.
The second part of car owners says quite the opposite, that the Cruze is a crude car, its first generation came out with a lot of childhood illnesses that turn into unpleasant breakdowns.
A fairly standard problem for all modern cars. Due to thin metal, dents can remain on the car body, even after not very strong contact with an obstacle or with another car.
Some owners of these cars write on the forums that after a short operation, they had some kind of knocks in the car’s suspension, for this it is enough to drive only a few thousand kilometers. As it turned out later, the knock could come from loose stabilizer struts, from levers or from shock absorbers.
In cars with a manual transmission, excessive pedal play may be observed (the pedal goes left-to-right). Although this is a trifle and not a problem, it is still unpleasant. Worse, when the car, at the moment the clutch is released when shifting gears (from first to second), starts to twitch like a neurotic, you immediately get the feeling that the engine is simply choking and it lacks traction.
There may be several reasons for this. One of the most common is a violation of the geometry of the clutch basket and, well, premature failure of the clutch disc. Everything usually happens due to factory defects, i.e. due to defective damper springs.
Sometimes such a reason was hidden elsewhere and it was solved by reprogramming the electronic control unit of the engine itself.
If the car has an automatic transmission, then it will be necessary to reconfigure the transmission control unit itself.
The sound of running gasoline engines in some cars can be rough and resemble a characteristic diesel bass. Sometimes extraneous noise is added to this when it starts.
The reason is the failure of the intake shaft gear, which is made and made of low-quality material. Quiet operation of the motor will return the installation of a new gear.
Also, on some sites, we found advice that said the following – that removing the filter meshes on the intake and exhaust valves can increase the life of the motor. Such advice sounds suspicious and we would not advise you to seriously listen to it to the general conclusion.
